Saint Louis Trotters’ Season Opener Rundown Record 1-1:
Saturday’s game vs. the Battle Creek Knights started out the weekend opener and it was beyond amazing! Kendall “Kasper” Boyd Hill’s alley oop dunk brought the 130 attendees to their feet and brought the Trotters within range of overtaking the Battle Creek Knights squad. It was St. Louis Trotters #7 Mark “Lights Out” Stovall hitting the game winning shot that put the Trotters over the top to pull out the win, making him Saturday’s player of the game.
Sunday’s game was very exciting as well against the Kankakee County Soldiers with exciting defense being played by both teams. In the end the offense of the Kankakee County Soldiers proved overwhelming and the Trotters lost the game by 7 points. When reached for comment the Dir of Team Operations D. Smith stated that “the 3-Time IBA Champions show us what we can expect from the best of the IBA League and I think we have what it takes to beat them when we meet again.” Notable players from this game were Ross Knutson who turned in another great performance and Nicolas “Nico” Reed, they both played outstanding offense and defense each night.
